Welcome to my airline flying website
Hello, my name is Jim and I am a retired B747-400 Captain having spent over 40 years
flying around the world. I created this web site to provide a source of information
to passengers who are either worried about air travel or wish to know more about the aeroplane
on which they are travelling. Hopefully this site might be of interest to "would be" airline pilots.
There is a page print-out located on the "Contact me" page (see Questions menu) specifically aimed at the
pilots of the future.

The information presented here has been deliberately simplified for
ease of reading and understanding. Consider these pages
as an attempt to explain concepts. It is not meant to be
scientifically correct; there just isn't room here
to do so. I have made use of several Youtube videos in my site to better explain various concepts. I am indebted to the people who created these videos because I do not possess the skills necessary. Not all of the photos included are mine. I have no idea how to contact the original photographers. My deepest thanks goes to them too.

To aspiring airline pilots, may I suggest that you undertake
an aviation medical before you get your heart set
on a career. If you cannot pass an aviation medical you
will never be employed as an airline pilot. It can be
a problem that you may have no control over. If so, it might be necessary for you to choose another career.

This is version five of my web site, which has been 20 years in the making . I will
add more pages if I receive common questions or comments about areas of aviation I have
not covered here.
Please do use the "Contact" menu choice if you have questions. I can really only make this truly useful with your assistance.

Wishing you happy flying........
